Minaurum Gold is pleased with the results of soil and rock sampling on its 100% owned, 17,000 hectare project Aurena to announce in the southeastern state of Oaxaca, Mexico. Aurena The property consists of three mineral concessions, the 1035-hectare concession Aurena, the 1876-ha Guelaguichi concession, and the 14,170-hectare concession Corazon del Oro. A diamond drilling program is scheduled for early 2011. Minaurum Gold is a gold and silver Explorer focused on acquiring and developing precious metals deposits in Mexico. The Company is currently promoting the Adelita, Aurena, Capilla, del Destino Vuelcos, Santa Marta, El Porfido and Jackie projects. These projects have been optioned by some of the most successful project generators in Mexico, David M. Jones and Dr. Peter KM Megaw and his staff IMDEX Inc. Minera Cascabel. The company recently encountered Skarn mineralization at its 100% owned Adelita Project in southern Sonora state.
Soil sampling has indicated that the gold is still very abnormal soil patches of 25-100 ppb Au, for a distance of 1.8 km to the southeast of the> 100 ppb Au anomaly area. The abnormal area is underlain by sulphide-bearing Skarn-altered sedimentary and intrusive rocks along an E / SE W / NW-trending zone at least 3 km long and 1.5 kilometers wide. Moreover, anomalous values of silver, lead and zinc in the soil and rock sampling and gold are slightly different from peak values, this may reflect the zoning of metallic mineralization.
Sampling of the rock formation Aurena Concession has confirmed gold mineralization. Twenty-six rock samples were analyzed more than 1 gram per tonne (g / t) Au. Four rock samples were analyzed more than 5 g / t Au, the highest gold value reported was 6.46 g / t. Rock samples to test more than 1 g / t AU are concentrated in an area 150 meters long and 50 meters wide, located in the southern part of the> 100 ppb gold soil anomaly.
The soil and rock sampling program on the concession Aurena part of the project demonstrated that there are> 100 parts per billion (ppb) gold-in-soil anomaly measuring 1,000 meters east-west by 100 to 400 meters north-south. 28 soil samples within the> 100 ppb Au anomaly field analysis of more than 500 ppb Au, including seven core samples greater than 1 g / t Au. The highest value in Au soil samples was 5.77 g / t Au.
?The results of soil and rock sampling on Aurena indicate the potential for a robust gold system,? said Darrell Rader, Minaurum Gold?s President and CEO. ?The apparent metal zoning, combined with a favorable rocks and persistence of gold anomalies along strike, suggesting the possibility of buried mineralization from the main anomaly area.?
The sampling program compiled Aurena 902 soil samples taken on lines 50 meters apart, with samples taken approximately every 50 meters with an area approximately 2,700 m by 1,100 m. 867 rock samples were taken from outcrops in the area.
In the autumn of 2009 the Company conducted rock chip sampling at road cuts and Aurena Guelaguichi concessions. Aurena the concession road cut were three significant intervals revealed by systematic rock-chip sampling: 2.60 m Weight averaging 0.976 g / t Au, 16.2 m average weight of 0.780 g / t AU and 7.65 m average weight of 0.698 g / t Au. These intervals, in addition to the reports of the property seller of a rock sample grading 8 g / t Au with visible gold and others, prompted the follow-up program as described above.
Minaurum remains Aurena explored with soil and rock sampling and geological mapping along this trend, with the aim of developing targets for drilling in early 2011.
